This module will introduce you to a range of topics associated with creating and managing the online presence of an organisation. The syllabus covers two key elements. You will learn how to create an online presence – including the design and development of a web presence, using main stream web authoring software to develop a website, multimedia software and techniques to enhance a responsive web presence. You will also explore search engine optimisation (SEO), security issues, and social media integration.
By the end of this module you will be able to create a multi-faceted digital presence, design, implement and manage a website that is high quality, responsive and accessible. Teaching and learning methods will combine mini lectures and problem based learning seminars with practical laboratory sessions. Assessment is divided into an in-module report, which is an investigative web related topic and an individual end-of-module project, where you will work on designing and developing an online presence for an organization.
