MoR® 4 Practitioner - Risk Management Certification

Overview

Course summary

During this risk management course we will present a comprehensive approach to managing risks and value within an organisation.

  • MoR® 4 is the definitive guide to managing risk effectively, providing practitioners with the ability to practically apply the framework in the workplace. It places value creation at the core of risk management and offers a practical understanding of how risk links to value creation and protection.
  • The framework enables certified professionals to deliver value to their employers and organisations in addition to enhancing their own career development. It includes valuable fictional case studies which illustrate how the guidance works in practice and can be tailored and applied across different sectors and organisations, irrespective of their operating model.
  • MoR® 4 also provides clear guidance on effectively integrating risk management to Agile practices at all levels of an organisation and helps teams and individuals to understand how risk links to opportunity and the delivery of benefits, without losing flexibility or competitive advantage.

The three-day Practitioner course will conclude with a 2 hours and 15 min multiple-choice exam (open book), which leads to the official Registered MoR® 4 Practitioner certificate.

Course structure

The course consists of a series of classroom lectures and group exercises. The lectures introduce the method’s terminology, then we will discuss case studies to explain how to use the method in practice. We will provide supplementary learning material via the University’s online learning platform. At the end of each day we will use multiple choice questions to remind us of the day’s learning and to prepare us for the certificate exam.

The Practitioner course follows on from the Foundation course, where we introduce the method, its philosophy and terminology.

It focuses on the more intricate aspects of the method, putting it into practice through applying a series of challenging questions to a case study. The formal test follows exactly the same approach.

The purpose of the Practitioner level is to confirm that you have achieved sufficient understanding to apply and adapt MoR® in a real-world scenario.

The exam has the following format:

  • objective testing
  • four questions per paper, 20 marks available per question
  • 50% (40 marks out of 80) required to pass
  • 3 hours' duration

Learning outcomes

At the end of the Practitioner course, you will be able to apply and understand how to tailor MoR® 4 effectively in an organisation supporting MoR®.

Specifically, for any organisational perspective, you will:

  • understand the relationships between the four elements of the MoR® framework
  • be able to apply the principles, approach, processes and techniques
  • be able to review and make recommendations to embed the MoR® framework
  • be able to create and assess any of the MoR® framework documents
