Introduced in 2017, Degree Apprenticeships are a new qualification that bring together the best of higher education and real world experience. If you’re an employer with a pay bill over £3 million each year, you will be paying into the apprenticeship levy and you will have a 24 month period to use your levy fund (on a rolling basis).
You can use the levy to pay for a Degree Apprenticeship to either upskill your existing workforce or recruit a new member of staff. Your company will benefit from new perspectives and fresh talent.
Apprentices will split their time between university study and the workplace and will be employed by you throughout – gaining a full bachelor’s from the University of Westminster and a relevant professional registration while earning a salary, and getting real on-the-job experience in their chosen profession.
The University of Westminster has identified a growing need for employers to fill skills gaps within their current workforce, thereby impacting their business growth and the local economy. Our Degree Apprenticeship programmes are designed to deliver apprentices who begin to learn sector specific skills from day one; developing specialist knowledge that will positively affect your workforce, and ultimately your bottom line.
The Degree Apprenticeship programmes we currently offer are:

Sponsored degree programmes
Not all degree courses and the related work disciplines are suitable to be delivered as a Degree Apprenticeship. For a degree course to qualify there needs to be an Apprentice Standard. Where there is not a Degree Apprenticeship Standard, but you would like a member of staff to study for a degree in a particular subject area, your company can sponsor a member of staff to study the course. Please see our our undergraduate and postgraduate degree programme prospectus for the full range of courses available.
