Course summary

The MA Management Advanced Standing is for students who have already achieved a Diploma in Management a target award and wish to obtain a Masters in Management qualification.

This Programme reflects the shift from an operational  perspective to the strategic and applied perspectives on management. It consists of three modules: Business Research Methods, Strategic Management and the MAM Project; which are studied  part-time over one year.

Course structure

The following modules are indicative of what you will study on this course.

Modules

The module aims to develop your knowledge and competence of the  research process and the application of research methods in the area of  business and management. It covers qualitative and quantitative research  methods, and considers the contexts within which different methods are useful  and how they should be applied in practice. It focuses on research design, data  collection and analysis and the presentation of findings.

This module will introduce you to the principles and practices of strategic management.

The Project module involves extensive research in a chosen topic. It will enable you to demonstrate your ability to work autonomously, and to apply the theory learned during the course to a substantial real-life problem.
