George Cayley Circle

The George Cayley Circle welcomes those who are generously leading our fundraising efforts through gifts of £10,000 or more.

We are proud to have named the Circle after distinguished scientist Sir George Cayley, who founded our first predecessor, The Polytechnic Institution, to stimulate innovation and demonstrate how it could be applied to change people’s lives.

Through his revolutionary vision, Sir George Cayley firmly established what was to become the University as a place for pioneers and cutting edge scientific demonstrations. This strong spirit continues to inform and drive today’s students and researchers into the 21st century.

We recognise the support of the George Cayley Circle through:

  • Invitations to a range of special celebrations including a members-only event hosted by our Vice-Chancellor and President
  • Bespoke reports on the development of the project(s) you are supporting
  • Special communications throughout the academic year
  • Special acknowledgement on our online donor roll
  • Thank You letter and welcome from our Vice-Chancellor and President
  • Additional tailored recognition including opportunities to name facilities or academic prizes and awards
