Green Impact is a national environmental accreditation and award scheme run in partnership with NUS. The scheme facilitates teams of staff and students to improve their environmental performance, it also involves teams progressing through a newly developed workbook of actions.
Green Impact brings together staff and students to green campuses, curriculums and communities.
Student Switch Off
Student Switch Off is a campaign encouraging students who live in University Halls of Residence to save energy through energy and waste competitions.
Events and activities to raise awareness of the campaign and our commitment to pay a fair price to producers around the world through the purchase of Fairtrade products. This year, Fairtrade Fortnight was held from the 23 February to 8 March.

Go Green Week
Go Green Week is the UK’s largest week of student climate action. Throughout the week the sustainability team coordinates activities across all University’s sites, promoting positive changes in behaviours, raising awareness about climate change whilst having fun.
Go Green Week has been a powerful scenario to get internal stakeholders involved in sustainability, pledging and understanding what we can do to improve the environment in which we work and study.
Drop-in sessions where experienced cyclists and mechanics will safety check your bike and make on-the-spot fixes.
Cycle Skill Share Sessions
Learn and share how to fix basic (and not so basic!) problems with your bike and how to keep it in great shape.
Our community of runners who combine well-being and fitness with volunteering through weekly Wednesday group runs.
At the end of each term, we collect items donated by students to be resold, relived and reused to help minimise our carbon footprint and divert goods heading to landfill sites.
