My M.Sc. dissertation will examine the diversity of acupuncture practice in mainland China in relation to micro and macro contextual contingencies. For this purpose I have conducted extensive interviews with leading acupuncturists in China and observed them in clinical practice

In 1984 I co-founded West Terrace Clinic in Eastbourne, UK, a multi-disciplinary clinic for alternative and complementary medicine. West Terrace Clinic quickly established a local reputation treating patients from all over the South East

I practiced full-time at the clinic from 1984 1999. I have a special interest in pediatrics and gynecology. I established a special Children's Clinic in Eastbourne. I have a wide range of experience in treating children and women for both acute and chronic conditions.

I have been teaching regularly at EIOM in Munich, Germany since 2001.

Current Research / Ongoing Projects

Since March 2016 I have been working with Anxiety UK in a pilot study organised with the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) treating patients suffering from anxiety. 

In 2015 I worked on my dissertation for my second master on the history and clinical application of Wen dan tang and the concept of phlegm. 

In 2016 I gave a keynote presentation titled Reading the Body: an East-Asian Perspective in a conference organised by the Medical Humanities at the University of Greenwich, Body Talk Whose Language?
