Connect with me

I grew up in Liverpool and studied Graphic Design at Liverpool College of art before doing an MA in Illustration at the Royal College of Art. I have worked as a fine artist, printmaker and illustrator teaching across these disciplines.  My instincts, practice and use of media are interdisciplinary and the evocative use of materials is central to my practice. On going themes in my work are the impact the past has on the present, the relationship of time and place, identity and memory. My most recent work has been the been the production of limited edition book works based on my travels in the North East frontier states of India, printed letterpress. Recent conference presentations and publications and have focused both on my own work and that of War Art & artists .

My current research

I am currently producing an Artists book & large scale prints using letterpress which combines text and imagery and explores the layering of time through the physical layering of the book form and the relationship of letterform and place. This work continues my exploration into the relationship of the past, present, place, identity and memory and  communicative potential of the ‘material’.
