I was born in Cuba and I went to the university there, graduating with a BA in languages.
I finished university in 1979 with a BA degree for teaching at all levels and also for translation and interpreting. I carried out my postgraduate studies and took a masters degree in the methodology of foreign language teaching. I also achieved a diploma of advanced studies for teachers of foreign languages in the University of Havana and a diploma of teaching in Higher Education from the Central University, Cuba.
I have a Eurolta European Trainer certificate in language teaching to adults, and a diploma as DELE examiner A1/A", from the Insituto Cervantes.
I worked in Cuba in a Medical University as a lecturer in English, Spanish and as a translator and occasionally as an interpreter. I worked in this capacity for 21 years and then moved to UK where I worked in different universities: European Business School, Regents University, London School of Economics and the University of Westminster. I also worked for five years as the Spanish and Portuguese team leader in the Foreign and Commonwealth office in London.
At present I am teaching different levels in Polylang and BA studies. I design a wide range of teaching materials across a range of levels in my subject area, offering tutorials to students to discuss their progress and to identify difficulties and suggest solutions and learning strategies when needed.
I am currently working on some pedagogical research and writing materials to be published.
