I have been a lecturer in Spanish in the Westminster Professional Language Center since 2003. I am also a DELE examiner for A1/A2/B1/B2.
During my career, I have taught Spanish at all levels and also prepare students for GCSE, A-LEVELS and DELE examinations. In 2000 I completed a Certificate as Specialist in Teaching Spanish Language as a Foreign Language by International House (London). Before joining the University of Westminster I worked extensively as a Spanish language teacher in British and Spanish educational institutions.
I trained at International House London, and studied journalism at the Universidad of Lejona (Spain).
I am particularly interested in designing foreign language courses using materials that make the learning process more effective and enjoyable, and also promote independent learning. I am also commited to making my students aware of the importance of multiculturalism in the classroom. I also encourage the use of e-learning in the classroom.
I teach Spanish Language in Polylang, the University's Open Language Programme.
I am involved in the Spanish Language Examinations DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera) at the University of Westminster as an examiner for levels (A1-B2). The DELE is an internationally recognised Diploma which certifies the degree of proficiency in Spanish.
My area of research is the use of technology to enhance deep and collaborative learning. I am particularly interested in blended learning as I believe it makes the learning process effective and enjoyable, and promotes learner autonomy.
