About me
I started my academic career in the USA, where I earned my PhD and taught for more than 10 years. During that time I was a visiting scholar at the Federal Trade Commission, an independent agency within the US government charged with protecting consumers. I moved to the UK in 2010 and this has broadened my perspective towards international consumer issues.
Teaching
I am a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy in the United Kingdom and have more than 20 years of experience teaching a variety of marketing classes at leading research and educational universities in the United States and United Kingdom. My primary teaching interests are quantitative analysis, advertising, and marketing & society.
Research
I have a growing research record in leading journals, including the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, and Journal of Business Ethics. I am a past Associate Editor of the Journal of Consumer Affairs, on the editorial review board for the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, and very active in academic conferences.
