I graduated from St. Martins School of Art and have been a practicing artist and illustrator since then. After living in London for 25 years I moved to East Sussex.
My work has been based in painting and has mainly focused on figurative representation and landscape.
I have been the recipient of major awards from the National Portrait Gallery and Mall Galleries London. I also have work in various collections. I am also a piper in The London Scottish Regimental Pipes and Drums and have played at international tattoos, memorial events in France, Italy Belgium , Scotland and London. I have also played at Royal engagements.
I have worked at Westminster teaching Illustration and visual Communication since 1990. Before that I taught on Foundation courses in the West Midlands and the North West of England where I specialised in life drawing and painting. I also taught print making, video and illustration projects
My present role is module leader on Level 4 and 6 where I am required to write projects, schedules. I also assess work, writing feedback and reports.
My research is based around my practice as a painter. I apply my own learning as an artist to my teaching. I have exhibited in Britain, Germany and the U.S.A.
I am represented by The Catto Gallery Hampstead where I have shown solo and as part of a group.
