I joined the University of Westminster in 2013, after a 35 year period in industry and have been teaching both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students on the Construction Studies Programme since joining.Recently I became the Programme Leader for Undergraduate Construction Studies.
Prior to joining the University, I held different management and leadership positions in various sizes of companies. I have an Honours degree in Building Technology and Management and a Masters in Business Administration from Henley Business School.I am a member of the Institute of Directors.
I have been involved in various sized projects,both in the public and private sectors. I have particular experience in fit out works in many sectors including offices, retail and high end residential. I have also worked with various different forms of procurement including formal partnering arrangements. I have developer experience, mainly in residential projects.
I have been involved in the development and growing of teams and companies.
I have a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education and am a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy.
I teach various subject areas including General Management, Law, Commercial Management, Site, Professional and Contract Practice.
I am particularly interested in enhancing the student experience of learning and teaching. As a result, negotiated learning, project based work and the development of student skills, are all areas where I see students and lecturers working closer together.
I also run the International Building Challenge for the University which is a simultaneous building project held in Holland, Russia, Germany, Belgium and the UK.
I have researched and studied Collaboration in the UK Construction Industry.
