About me

I joined the Department of Property and Construction in December 2007. Prior to this I was a Development Manager for the Qualifications & Curriculum Authority with responsibility for National Qualifications in the Built Environment. My industrial experience is in Project Management and I have worked with multinational organisations on projects ranging from £60 -£250 million. I also held a position of Senior Lecturer at the University of Bedfordshire.

Teaching

I am Course Leader for the MSc in Construction Project Management. My main teaching areas are in Construction and Project Management .I tech Construction Project Management and Site Studies Production at Undergraduate Level. At post graduate level I tech Project Evaluation, Project Management, Procurement, Integrated Project Team and Project Planning My particular areas of interest are in procurement, effective integrated project team development and project incentivisation.

Research

I have worked with a number of consultant organisations delivering projects for clients where I have been representing the Project as the "Project Friend" working to establish harmonised Project Teams for projects with numerous Stakeholders who are seeking to develop genuine partnering procedures and transparent management processes.

The various stakeholders include:

  • The London Borough of Newham
  • Co-operative & Gallions Housing Associations
  • The Metropolitan Police

I have also worked in conjunction with external consultants in developing best practice procurement and risk management procedures for a number of government organisations and public bodies.
