Hena Ali is a graphic designer, innovator, journal reviewer, and a senior lecturer at University of Westminster, London. She is also an Associate Lecturer at London College of Communication, UAL and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, London. She holds a practice-led PhD (2015) in ‘Communication Design for Sustainable Social Innovation’ from Central Saints Martins, UAL. Her expertise is designing communication design strategies for contextual sense making and sustainability within the premise of graphic communication design, service design and social/corporate innovation projects.
She designs and implements human-centred social projects using physical/digital engagement tools and bespoke communication design-led strategies for start-ups, established social enterprises, research centres, educational establishments and community organisations.
She is an experienced leadership panel expert and keynote speaker for organisations such as Higher Education Academy UK, British Council UK/Pakistan and Common Purpose, UK etc. She has published in the areas of Graphic Communication Design, Design-led Innovation (Social and Corporate), and Design Education.

She works on Design Process, Professional Practice, Information Applications and Visual Narratives modules.
