New Media Knowledge hub
Dr Magda Hercheui of the Department of Business Information Management and Operations is currently developing the knowledge hub New Media Knowledge (NMK) with the objective of strengthening a large community of professionals in the digital media and creative industries.
Created in 1999, the NMK hub specialises in diffusion of knowledge on digital and social media topics. It has an active community of around 7,000 professionals, mainly in the creative industries. The NMK website publishes reports, opinions and tips from academics and industry professionals, offering a unique space to share relevant knowledge and information from different perspectives. Furthermore through the website, NMK communicates with the community via a weekly newsletter, social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter) and events.
The service also provides free-of-charge content, courses, events and networking opportunities.
