Postgraduate and MBA international mentoring programme

Are you a full-time international Postgraduate, Masters or MBA student looking to gain an opportunity to interact with the business community in the UK? If you're taking your first semester at Westminster Business School, you'll have the opportunity to take part in the Postgraduate and MBA international mentoring programme.

Through the mentoring scheme, you will be assigned a mentor within an industry of your choice. Having a mentor increases your confidence and helps you to gain a cultural insight into your aspired career. Mentoring can also help you develop your communication, networking and interpersonal skills.

A mentor facilitates personal and professional growth in an individual by sharing the knowledge and insights that have been learned through the years. Simply put, mentors are people who help others to succeed.

During the programme, you'll be paired with an experienced professional and have some support, impartial feedback, encouragement and guidance in managing your learning and development.

The programme runs twice a year and you will attend a 3 or 4 one-hour sessions with your mentor over a period of 4 months.

As a mentee you can only take part in the mentoring once during your first semester and the programme will run as follows:

  • September starters: mentoring meetings will take place between January–April
  • January starters: mentoring meetings will take place between April–July

You will receive a certificate of participation awarded by Westminster Business School and Student Affairs after successful completion of the programme

The pairing was great and the face to face meetings and updates were great. It was nice to bounce your thoughts off of someone who was engaged and listens while they also give feedback.  Spring 2014 mentee, MBA.

The programme was very organised and the choice of the mentor was perfect for me.  Spring 2015 Mentee, MSc Finance and Accounting

The best part was to get an actual insight into how the finance industry works in London from an inside point of view. Spring 2015 Mentee, MSc Global Finance

Before the program I had many ideas about my future without a clear vision. Now I have a strategic plan to start my digital marketing career, with realistic goals. Thank you for this opportunity, I am still in touch with my mentor as he has kindly offered to guide me through my journey. Spring 2015 Mentee, MA Marketing Communications
