International exchanges and partnerships

Westminster is one of the most internationally-focused universities in the UK. We are currently home to students and staff from over 150 different countries, have collaborative academic and business partnerships with literally hundreds of overseas institutions and organisations, and are involved in international projects all over the globe.

Student Exchange Programme

The University of Westminster has exchange agreements with higher education institutions throughout the world. As a Politics and International Relations student you will be encouraged to broaden your horizons through our exchange programmes with partner universities. You can choose to study abroad for credit in

Germany, Australia, USA, Mexico and many other exciting places. Students undertake an exchange in their second year of studies for one semester.

International Engagement

Our past students have demonstrated successful involvement in global initiatives and activities. We run a field trip to Istanbul (Turkey) each year and students are challenged to think about politics, culture and democracy in an applied way.

At Westminster you are encouraged to take part in events and activities in London and beyond. Academic staff have organised trips to Brussels, where our students get to meet with policymakers from the European Commission, NATO and associated international organisations. Our undergraduate students have participated in international conferences, including presenting ideas at research events.

"I’ve made more friends from more countries than I ever had whilst at Westminster. Learning about different cultures helped me to communicate with people from different backgrounds." Blazej, Politics and International Relations Graduate
