Translating cultures

Translating Cultures is a multi-disciplinary research initiative which analyses the interaction between language and culture.

The initiative undertakes and supports:

  • research into the complex contemporary relationship between culture and (applied) languages
  • comparative analyses of diverse text and speech productions in various cultural and multicultural contexts
  • seminars, workshops and conferences
  • knowledge transfer between academics, policy-makers and practitioners

The department offers a Translating Cultures MRes combining the disciplines of translation and cultural studies.
