Evening Language Programme
Whether you wish to learn a new language, improve your existing communication skills or enhance your career, the Westminster Professional Language Centre has a part-time evening language course designed to meet your needs.
With 22 languages available, our Evening Language Programme has one of the widest ranges of languages available in the UK, with many offered from beginner to advanced level.
We are right in the heart of central London, a few minutes’ walk away from Oxford Circus, a vibrant area full of cafes, restaurants, pubs and of course shops, most of which stay open late. Refreshments are available on-site in the evenings and at the many nearby cafes in Regent Street.
Most classes are held at 309 Regent Street, or occasionally at close-by Wells Street. Both are dedicated teaching buildings with purpose-designed facilities.
All our lecturers are trained and qualified teachers of their respective languages with considerable teaching experience. They are either native speakers of the language they teach, or have in-depth knowledge and experience of the country concerned and regarded as native speakers of the language. They use the most effective teaching methods to equip you with the language skills you need to communicate naturally in the language you have chosen to study.
Westminster’s evening classes are a fun way to unwind after a long day at work. The group of students I study with is really diverse in terms of nationality and age, and my teacher helps keep the classes entertaining and interesting. Most importantly, my classmates and I have all developed our language skills really quickly. I would recommend the course to anyone wishing to learn a language for professional or personal reasons. Cyril Benayoun (Spanish Grade 1)
Taking a language course at the University of Westminster has helped me develop a broader understanding of my language. The teaching is in-depth, but the classes are paced in such a way that nobody feels rushed. My course has turned out to be more enjoyable and fulfilling than I thought it would be. Tara Mohebi (Farsi Grades 5 and 6).
As a part-time language evening course student, you will automatically be entitled to use the University’s facilities such as the Regent Campus Library to practise the language in your own time and at your own speed using a range of audio and video materials in open access with accompanying course books.
The work you do outside class – in the library or at home – is an important part of your studies, and one objective of all our teaching at the University of Westminster is to assist you to add to your class contact hours by effective independent study.
