Events and Marketing Manager | U&V Inter-trade Company Ltd

Tourism and Events Management MA - 2011

The course gave me a basic foundation of the events industry which in turn gave me an overall idea of how the industry works and operates. And that I found very useful.

What are you doing now?

I am working for a trading company in Thailand as an Events & Marketing Manager. I handle all the internal and external company events along with the creative aspects of the company.

What did you find most valuable about your course at Westminster? How did the skills you learnt during your degree help you to shape your career?

The course gave me a basic foundation of the events industry which in turn gave me an overall idea of how the industry works and operates. And that I found very useful.

What was the best thing about being a student in London?

For me, coming from Thailand, I think everything was so new and amazing. The culture, the food, the people and even the way we were taught in school. I loved everything about it. It taught me to be independent, outgoing and responsible. It was definitely one of the best experiences.

What extra-curricular activities did you participate in that enhanced your time at the University?

I did part-time jobs in the events industry, some voluntary work and also ended up working in the events team for over a year at The Cinnamon Club restaurant.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of pursuing a similar career?

I would just say that try to find as much experience as you can because that is the only way you will be able to understand and develop your skills. Even if it is volunteering, you are definitely coming out with more experience.

Is there anything else you would like to tell us about yourself that may be valuable/interesting to our prospective students or alumni?

Since I have been back home in Thailand I founded another brand under the company and it has received a lot of appreciation. Moreover, I get to manage internal events on my own which gives me the creative ability.
