John Ellis

Executive Chair and Director, West Berkshire Healthwatch

"I have managed a number of major change programmes in a variety of companies, using the skills from the MBA and ISO 9000."

John is a commercially astute, dynamic and strategic HR professional, with a wealth of experience in a wide range of sectors.

He studied for the Westminster Business School MBA part-time, while working for the Corporation of London, and graduated from the course in 1998. "The reason I enrolled for the MBA was that I enjoy learning – I had previously gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies, along with Higher National Certificates – and also to demonstrate that being dyslexic would not stop me from achieving my goal," says John. Since gaining his Masters, John has successfully held senior support service and business management positions with organisations in a number of sectors, both in the UK and overseas.

These have included HR Manager roles for Network Rail and MITIE, as well as posts in America, Australia and New Zealand. Although now retired from full-time employment, John continues to use his skills as a Director of a number of charities and community interest companies; he is currently the Executive Chair and Director of West Berkshire Healthwatch.
