Hilary has a successful record of significant, senior-level management and leadership in the arts, cultural and creative industries in the UK.
Hillary's work is also in demand internationally, with recent engagements including Australia, Greece and Austria where she is a Visiting Professor at Kufstein University of Applied Sciences.
As Arts Director at Arts Council England, she led on the Regional Arts Plan for the city, and steered the Council's work on the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. This followed her role as Director of Culture and Education at London 2012, where she delivered the inception and planning of the Cultural Olympiad as part of London's successful Olympic bid. Prior to working independently,
Hilary was Director of the Cultural Leadership Programme, a £22m government investment in excellence in leadership within the UK cultural and creative industries, which is acknowledged to have delivered significant improvements for leaders and organisations. She is a member of Heritage Lottery Fund, London Committee, and trustee of the Arts Foundation, Siobhan Davies Dance Company and The Horniman Museum. Alongside her MBA from Westminster Business School, Hilary is a qualified coach with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, and a qualified Organisation Development Practitioner with the National Training Laboratories Institute for Applied Behavioural Science.
