Postgraduate Evenings

The next postgraduate information evening will be held on

Wednesday 9 June 2010, 5.30-7.30pm

The evening offers prospective postgraduate students the opportunity talk to academics about course content and to take a tour of the building with current University of Westminster students. Refreshments will also be provided.

Architecture

Our Architecture courses are taught in the School of Architecture and the Built Environment.

Art and Design

The majority of our Art and Design courses are taught at the School of Media, Arts and Design at Harrow although the MA Visual Culture is taught at Regent.

Biosciences

You will be able to get advice about our Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences and Biotechnology courses taught at our School of Life Sciences

Built Environment

You will be able to get advice about our Construction Management, Tourism, Transport and Urban Studies courses taught at our School of Architecture and the Built Environment.

Business and Management

Westminster Business School (based at Marylebone) offers courses in Business and Management, Finance, Human Resource Management, International Business, and Marketing.

Community and Collaborative Practice

Our Community and Collaborative courses are taught at the School of Life Sciences and include courses in Community Development, Health and Social Care and Public Health Nutrition.

Complementary Therapies

Our Complementary Therapies courses are taught within the School of Life Sciences

Electronics and Computer Science

We have the School of Electronics and Computer Science (based at Cavendish and Harrow) offering courses in Business and Information Systems, Computer Science and Software Engineering, Human Interaction and Multimedia, and Networks and Communications.

Electronics

Our Electronics courses are taught at the School of Electronics and Computer Science based at Cavendish.

English

In English and Linguistics, postgraduate teaching embraces programmes in English Literature, Visual Culture, Cultural and Critical Studies, Applied Languages, TESOL and London Studies. The Department has particular research strengths in nineteenth- and twentieth-century literature, critical theory, theatre studies, phonetics, and the study of creoles.

Languages

We teach over 30 languages from beginner to bilingual level in the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Languages and offer a range of postgraduate language course in translation and interpreting. Our conference interpreting course is one of the few in the UK to be recognised by the professional interpreter's association (AIIC).

Law

The School of Law offers a broad range of taught academic and professional law courses and an opportunity for continuing professional development. Our specialisms include corporate finance, dispute prevention and resolution, entertainment law, international commercial law, international law and international commercial mediation. We also provide a one year conversion course (Graduate Diploma in Law) as well as the Legal Practice Course (LPC) for intending solicitors. The LPC was recently awarded the highest rating of commendable practice by the Law Society.

Media

You will be able to get advice about our Fashion, Film, Journalism and Mass Communications, Music and Photography courses taught at our School of Media, Arts and Design.

Psychology

Our specialisms include business psychology, health psychology and psychological research methods (School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Languages). We also offer the Graduate Diploma in Psychology. Our courses are accredited by the British Psychological Society.

Social and Political Studies

Programmes focus on applied social and market research, globalisation, development and transition, European studies, economic and government reform and modern Islamic studies. The Centre for the Study of Democracy offers courses in politics and international relations and Asian Studies. The Diplomatic Academy of London is also based in the in the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Languages pioneering diplomatic training programmes.
