Bursaries

A bursary is a grant to help you with your course-related costs. You will not have to pay it back at the end of your studies. Bursaries support UK and EU students who might otherwise not be able to afford the cost of studying at a university. The support available depends on your or your parent's household income.

A University of Westminster bursary of £400 (academic year 2010/11) is based on a more generous level of household income than some other universities and will be given to all students who receive a maintenance grant.

How do I apply for a bursary?

Your Local Education Authority (UK students) or the Department for Education & Skills (EU students) will tell you if you are eligible for the statutory bursary when you apply for a grant. When you accept a place at the University of Westminster, the relevant authority will let us know your grant status. From this, we will be able to assess your eligibility for one of our voluntary bursaries.
