Continuing students

Before you return to University

All undergraduate and postgraduate students need to enrol online for the next academic session. This is a simple process and means that you will not have to go to the School Registry and queue if you follow the instructions correctly.

Undergraduate students

Please remember to arrange a fees loan through the Student Loans Company or have other sponsorship or funds available to pay your course fees.

Your student loan and grant

If you receive a loan or grant from the Student Loans Company (SLC), we do not need to see your SLC letters of financial support, as the University is kept informed of fee contributions and loans by the SLC. You will simply need to check, when you enrol online, that there is no discrepancy between the figures in your letter and those displayed on the Intranet during your enrolment.

After you have successfully enrolled online, we will confirm your attendance to the SLC and this will trigger the first payment of your loan and/or grant directly into your bank account once term has officially started. Payment may take 4-5 working days.

To avoid delays, please ensure that the SLC has your correct bank details, address and National Insurance number.

Postgraduate students

Please remember to arrange sponsorship or funds to pay your course fees.

How to enrol

Note that to be able to re-enrol online, you must have chosen your University of Westminster email address. To do this, log on to SRSWeb, where you will automatically be redirected to a link to choose your account name. Depending on availability, this can be one of the following:

  • your username (eg w1234567)
  • your first name.surname (eg john.smith)
  • your first initial.surname (eg j.smith)
  • your first name.surname with inserted characters of your choice (eg john.smith123)

Once you have made your choice of email address, you will be able to continue with the online enrolment process.

Enter your username (this is the letter 'W' followed by the first seven digits of your registration number) and then simply follow the instructions, entering and/or updating any personal information such as addresses and emergency contact details. If any details regarding your course are incorrect, contact your School Registry Office.

When you have finished entering/updating your details, review them and print off a copy of the form and declaration for your records. We do not require a copy.

Paying your fees

If you are paying any part of your tuition fees yourself, you can do this online, but please note that the system uses 3D Secure. This is a security feature that ensures that payments using certain credit and debit cards are authenticated by the cardholder with their bank at the time of the transaction. During the payment flow you will be prompted by your bank to enter a password. If you have not yet registered for 3D Secure, you will need to do so before you can continue with your online payment. Some card providers limit the amount that can be paid online. You may need to speak with your card provider to clear the payment first and also to make sure you have sufficient cleared funds.

At the end of the payment process, remember to print a receipt.

If you are not paying your fees online, you will need to bring your payment (by cheque, cash, credit card or banker's draft) or evidence of approved sponsorship to the Finance Office. Evidence of sponsorship will be retained, so please make sure you have a copy for yourself.

If someone else is paying by cheque on your behalf, please send the cheque and a copy of your enrolment form to your Finance Office. Make sure your full name, course and student number are on the back of the cheque.

Paying by instalments

The option to pay fees by instalments is not available if you are a full-time undergraduate UK/EU student and you have the option of taking a tuition fee loan and deferring payment until after graduation. The option to pay by instalments is available to all other students with a personal fee liability of over £1,500.

If you are paying in instalments, please remember to complete and sign the Instalment Agreement Form.
