External user access

This is information on how to access the library and IT services we offer to external users. Please note that due to licensing and IT restrictions, library use does not include any access to University computing facilities, online journals or electronic databases.

Library Search for external users

Guest access to Library Search will generally allow you to search our print collections only.

Alumni

All ex-students of the University are automatically registered with the Alumni Association, free of charge. Your Alumni Association membership includes: Free reference-only access to the libraries. You will need to obtain a swipe card to gain access to the libraries. Details of how to get your card are on the Alumni Association web pages. Photocopying of print resources, (subject to the library's normal charges). You will need to get a photocopy card from the library counter. Borrowing of up to five books at a time, subject to an annual charge of £50. You can register and pay by cheque at the library counter. If you wish to pay by credit/debit card you will need to pay at the local cashier office, (Mon-Fri) before registering at the library.
