Launch of Professional Performance and Development Review (PPDR) tools for staff in 'myHR PPDR'

03 February 2012

Corporate Services is in the final stages of its roll-out of the new approach to Performance Management. All managers have completed their induction and skills development workshops and the workshops for staff are being delivered until mid-March.

The online performance module of the online platform, myHR PPDR is now available for access and use. This is the mechanism on which we will record the outcomes of our performance and development discussions, and track our progress, individually and collectively. The Professional Performance and Development Review tools can be accessed using the following link:

All of the Departments in the Corporate Services Group will be working on the reviews at roughly the same time this year in order to align it with the University's business planning cycle in the future and bring the Department review cycles closer together. We are all aware that this year is a transition phase between undertaking our last appraisals using the existing process and using the new platform, so this year will be treated as a full pilot. We will be closely monitoring the first run through and regular feedback will be requested.

We will all undertake the 3 main parts of the process in the following timescales:

  1. January to March 2012: Setting Key Performance Objectives for 2011/12
  2. April/May 2012: Interim PPD Reviews
  3. July/August 2012: PPD Reviews

During these times, support is available to help you to use the new myHR PPDR platform and to set your objectives.

We can now get on with scheduling everyone's reviews, starting with all managers. In order to get the most out of these new tools you will need to engage with the framework and we welcome your feedback to help us improve your experience over time.
