Television at Westminster means everything from tough journalism to magazine shows, from investigative documentaries to experimental video work. Taught by professional broadcasters in state of the art studios, our students are equipped to take on the world of broadcasting in every sense. The television course has the broadest possible approach.
The BA Television course is designed to give students the experience of working on a variety of types of programme formats and in creating a wide range of content.The course teaches production skills such as camerawork, editing, directing, production management, multi-camera studio operation, script writing, programme development and pitching.

All our students are helped to find work placements and many students from our courses go straight into jobs in broadcasting.The School has very strong links with all the major broadcasting outlets, and among our research team are a number of leading scholars in public service broadcasting. These include Professor Jean Seaton, currently writing the official history of the BBC, David Hendy who wrote an award-winning book on the history of BBC Radio 4; as well as the eminent writer on broadcasting Professor Steven Barnett.
