Radio

Music shows, news bulletins, magazines programmes, documentaries and features, outside broadcasts.

Radio at Westminster means everything from tough journalism to deejaying, from investigative documentaries to experimental sound sculptures. Taught by a team of professional broadcasters in state of the art studios, our students are equipped to take on the world of broadcasting in its widest sense. BA Radio Production has the broadest possible approach, while the MA/PgDip specialises in journalism.

All radio students are helped to find work placements and there is a very strong progression from our courses straight into jobs in broadcasting.

The School has very strong links with all the major broadcasting outlets, and among our research team are a number of leading scholars in public service broadcasting. These include Professor Jean Seaton, currently writing the official history of the BBC, David Hendy who wrote an award-winning book on the history of BBC Radio 4; as well as the eminent writer on broadcasting Professor Steven Barnett.
