Documentary Film Centre
About the Centre for Production and Research of Documentary Film (CPRD)
The newly established Centre is developing a unique approach to Documentary study through production, academic research, teaching and screenings.
The centre actively seeks to expand the field of documentary film studies by bringing together researchers, documentary filmmakers, PhD research students and research fellows. The centre looks to redefine the documentary discourse, its history and its relationship to politics and art through the investigation of the relationships between ideology, history and culture and the apparatus of artistic production.
Currently the Centre pays particular attention to the study areas of Visual Anthropology and Human Rights, Arts Documentary and Documentary Archive, whilst extending the range of production and research into other fields of Documentary film study.
