Roland Dannreuther joined as Head of the Department of Politics and International Relations in September 2009. He was formerly Professor of International Relations and Head of Politics at the School of Social and Political Science, University of Edinburgh.
 
His research interests include security studies; the international relations of Russia, Central Asia and the Middle East; international politics of energy; and the contribution of historical sociology to International Relations.
