Cragie, Stella
Stella’s first degree was in modern languages at Leeds
University.
She then moved to Italy and taught translation at the Scuola Superiore per Interpreti e Traduttori in Naples and at two universities there. She also worked as a freelance translator.
On returning to the UK she continued with freelance work as a member of ITI, specialising in the arts, law and business.
Her particular interest is in art and antiques, and she has translated a large number of exhibition catalogues.
She gained an MA in Museum and Gallery Management in 1994 at City University, London. She is currently a Principal Lecturer in Translation at the University of Westminster, Course Leader of a number of postgraduate translation and interpreting courses, a regular contributor to professional development events for translators and interpreters and co-author of “Thinking Italian Translation” (Routledge).
