Professional Training Courses in Business & Computing

These courses are part of a Professional Development Scheme. They are self-contained courses of study covering seven hours on selected Saturdays.  Courses are at introductory and advance levels providing professionals with the opportunity to update their knowledge and acquire new skills.

The programme aims to:

  • provide a comprehensive training programme in business and computing that has a practical nature by utilising the expertise available within the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Westminster;
  • produce graduates who have built on their work experience by offering a range of knowledge and skills, which will enable them to become professionals capable of coping in today's demanding IT environment;
  • be a leader regional provider of IT and management training and education to individuals, companies and various other bodies;
  • provide a multitude of specialist modules which are hands-on and skills oriented, focusing on the prevailing technologies of the day;
  • support students wishing to improve their career prospects by offering them marketable skills;
  • bridge the gap between the foundations provided by academic education and more vocational IT skills required by Industry;
  • offer the in-depth practical experience needed to support the effective use of technology;
  • offer a transferable, recognised qualification;
  • provide technical competencies and the latest skills needed in a modern work environment; and
  • improve the career prospects of those seeking to improve their professional standing by either staying in the same field of changing career paths.
