Build Up
Courses for London's built environment and related professionals who are unemployed or significantly under-employed in their chosen field.
The Build Up programme is funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England’s (HEFCE) Economic Challenge Investment Fund for Sector Re-skilling and the City of Westminster’s Westminster Works programme. This innovative programme of workshops, short courses and projects provides participants with a unique opportunity to re-evaluate their careers and enhance their skills in preparation for the predicted up-turn in the economy.
Aimed at unemployed or under-employed built environment professionals, Build Up is offering 1,500 FREE places on the programme, which runs until the end of September 2010.
New Media Knowledge (NMK)
NMK is a knowledge hub managed by Westminster Business School. Created in 1999 by the University of Westminster, the NMK hub specialises in diffusion of knowledge on digital and social media topics. It has an active community of around 7,000 professionals, mainly in the creative industries. The NMK website (www.nmk.co.uk) publishes reports, opinions and tips from academics and industry professionals, offering a unique space to share relevant knowledge and information from different perspectives. Furthermore through the website, NMK communicates with the community via a weekly newsletter, social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter), and events.
The service provides free-of-charge content, courses, events and networking opportunities.
