Biography

Dr. Dan Greenwood is a Senior Lecturer in Politics and a participant in the Governance and Sustainability research and teaching programme.

Dr Greenwood holds a PhD in political theory/ political economy from University of Westminster, an MSc in Evolutionary and Adaptive Systems (University of Sussex) and a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (University of Oxford). He has previously taught politics at the Universities of Glasgow and Gloucestershire.

Research projects

Dr. Greenwood's research concerns the evaluation of governance and policy, with a focus on issues of sustainable development. His current projects cover:

  • An analysis of the zero carbon homes policy agenda in the U.K. (with funding from the Quintin Hogg Foundation). See the report ‘Really Zero: Stakeholder Perspectives on the Zero Carbon Homes Agenda in England.’
  • UK environmental and climate change governance in a comparative, international perspective
  • Political science as a discipline and methodological innovation for inter-disciplinary policy analysis
  • The ‘socialist calculation problem’ and the development of novel approaches to economic modelling, particularly relating to the economics of climate change.
  • Curriculum development on the theme of ‘Governance for Sustainable Development’ Westminster coordinator of EU FP7 project in partnership with four universities: University of Lodz (Poland), University of Crete (Greece), Vet Agro Sup Institut (France), University of Applied Management (Germany) (Agreement No 510751-LLP-1-2010-1-PL-ERASUMS-ECDEM)
