Centre for Parallel Computing

The School of Electronics and Computer Science Centre for Parallel Computing is a focus for research in the technology and applications of parallel and distributed computations. Activities in the Centre include the development of tools and environments to support the parallel software engineering life-cycle; parallel implementation models for declarative programming systems; and parallel discrete event simulation.

Applications involving collaboration with other research groups and industry include the areas of telecommunications; performance engineering; molecular modelling; computation mechanics; computational grid; and control systems. The Centre is well supported by industry, EPSRC, the EU and other funding bodies.

The Director of the Centre is Professor Stephen Winter.
