My PhD experience
My PhD study was funded by the ORS scholarship. The scholarship was particularly helpful to support my research. Also, my study also benefit enormously from the supervision of Prof. Colin Sparks, who has always been responsive to my questions, and supportive to my research at different stages. I was also working as a tutor for Prof. Sparks on his undergraduate and postgraduate courses; the experience working with him is particularly important to my academic formation because I have learned quite a lot from his sense of humor and generosity to his students, as well as professional teaching skills such as using Powerpoint for presenting course content.
As far as the support of the research institute is concerned, I remembered that the seminars and conferences organized by the CAMRI facilitated various lively occasions for academic exchanges with scholars from different parts of the world. These events have cultivated a research-oriented atmosphere in the institute. I notice that the CAMRI is now developing a research relationship with China, and has launched a new research center aimed at China. These developments would make the CAMRI a unique place for facilitating exchanges and dialogues between scholars of Britain and China in the field of communication and media studies.
