Current job

I am currently teaching design, mainly communication design to undergraduate students. This include studio practice as well as theory and research (undergraduate level). Additionally, I am a part of Human-factor teaching team and responsible for socio-cultural area. Last year, my colleage and I started a new college-wided course called Design and Everyday Life. The aim of this course is to introduce to non-design students what design is and how it is related to them in their everyday life. The idea was inspired by a very informal lecture Prof Paddy Scannell gave to us, the PhD students at  CCIS,  when I was there. It is great, there's so much more to be done to fine tune the course but I love it. The department is also planning to open a new MA programme in two years time and I am one of the working members.

Apart from teaching, I represent the department on the School's Academic Board. I am also the school's co-ordinator of students' advisors. My current research project is Made in Japan: A socio-cultural history of Japanese Electronic Rice Cooker in Japan, funded by the Sumitomo Foundation.
