Fairtrade Evening - Promoting Student Involvement

Date: 3 March 2010 5.00pm - .

Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world.  It enables them to improve their position and have more control over their lives.

The University of Westminster supports this campaign and is working with other organisations to promote the concept of fair trade and ensure that the university itself uses fair trade products. This event is part of Fairtrade Fortnight, a global campaign from 22 February to 5 March highlighting the benefits of fairtrade.

Please join us at 5pm on Wednesday 3 March in the Refectory at Harrow for a presentation about fair trade, information stalls, a chance to discuss the issues and an opportunity to find out how you can get involved

The participating organisations include:

Oxfam

The Co-operative

Brent Fair Trade Network

University of Westminster Sustainability and Responsibility Team

Fairtrade Foundation

Students Union
