Diploma in Translation

The Diploma in Translation course gives training in the various skills and techniques needed by translators. It equips you to apply practical translation skills to the same standard as that expected of a university postgraduate student and to be able to explain and justify translation solutions. The course also prepares you for the Diploma in Translation (IoLET) examination.

Course content

The course covers 3 terms as follows:

Contact time: once a week (2 hours) in the evening over a total of 30 weeks. You are also expected to undertake independent study to fully benefit from the course.

Enrolment options: Whole course or separately for each term.

You must:

• obtain a pass in the University of Westminster Diploma in Translation (IoLET) course Admission Test
• be a native speaker of the translation target language
• have degree level proficiency in writing in the target language
• have graduate level English reading skills.

Timetable and Dates

30 weeks – 60 hours of tuition. All classes are subject to sufficient enrolment.
Special arrangements will be made to replace Bank Holidays.

2013: £350 per term

A 50% refund will be given if you withdraw from the course before it starts. No refund will be given once the course has started.
