English as a Foreign Language
You will have the option of taking a six-week or an 11-week Pre-sessional course. The length of course will depend on the English language level you have when you enter the course and the English language entry requirement of the degree course you plan to take. Classes are from Monday to Friday, 10am–1pm and 2–4pm.
6 weeks 4 November 2013 – 13 December 2013 £1,350
You must hold a current offer to study a degree course at the University of Westminster and fulfil the necessary English Language criteria outlined in the table below in order to be considered for the Pre-sessional course. Please note that IELTS equivalents are accepted.
The pre-sessional courses are assessed using a mixture of an externally validated test (Password) and Westminster assessments.
If you reach the required entry level in English language for admission onto your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate course, you will automatically progress onto it. If you do not reach the required entry level in English language for admission onto your course, you will need to defer entry to the University.
|Degree level||6 week pre-sessional course||11 week pre-sessional course|
|Postgraduate courses where the overall level of English required is 6.5 IELTS||6.0 overall 5.5 in every element; TOEFL 80 with a minimum of 16 in every component||5.5 overall 5.5 in the Writing paper and a minimum of 5.0 in each other element; TOEFL 71 with a minimum of 16 in every component|
We will then contact you to confirm your place. Once we have done this you will have to pay your pre-sessional fees and, if required, a deposit for your undergraduate or postgraduate course.
