About IELTS
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is owned by Cambridge ESOL, the British Council and IDP Australia.
IELTS uses a unique nine-point scoring system to measure and report test scores in a consistent manner. Candidates receive scores for each language skill (listening, reading, writing and speaking) and an Overall Band Score on a Band Scale from one to nine.
Every aspect of the IELTS test – from test design and administration, to the marking and reporting of results – is subject to the highest quality controls, security procedures and integrity management practices.
The University of Westminster is the second largest IELTS testing facility in the United Kingdom. We deliver the IELTS test to 7-8,000 candidates per year.
