Product-Service development
Looking to develop a new product? Improve an existing service? Establish more efficient business processes?
We can work with you to design and develop new products and services in a number of ways. With expertise across the life sciences, electronics, media and culture, urban development, business, computing, law and languages – the list of our areas of expertise is long.
How we work with you
Contract research – tell us exactly what you want
Contract research is a project commissioned by an organisation to gain new knowledge with a specific application or business outcome in mind. A dedicated University of Westminster expert will deliver your project's objectives within an agreed timeline and cost.
Schedules, deliverables and fees will be negotiated by one of our business development officers together with the relevant members of academic staff. These terms and conditions are then made formal in a contract.
Joint research – finding the solution together
Joint, or collaborative, research is a project carried out between the University of Westminster and one or more other parties. External partners can include your business, other academics, postgraduate students or recent graduates.
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships – funding for specific projects
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) are an initiative supported by government funding to develop and execute a strategically important project in partnership with the University of Westminster. An academic provides strategic advice and a dedicated associate (with industry experience and qualified to graduate or postgraduate level) executes the project's objectives in collaboration with your business.
Read our KTP webpages to learn how a KTP could benefit you.
Consultancy – a short term issue or small but regular input
Consultancy is the broadest of all our services. It's targeted at addressing your specific business needs within your organisation. Perhaps you'd like informed and independent confirmation of what you feel is the next right step? Perhaps you'd like us to scope out your options and take you through the pros and cons? Our consultancy services are flexible; we can adapt our services to meet projects of all sizes and complexities.
None of the above?
If none of the options above apply to your situation, don't despair. Contact one of our business development officers to talk through your ideas or email us your questions.
