About the school
The School of Life Sciences is situated in the Cavendish Campus at the University of Westminster. The purpose-built and architecturally distinctive campus is in central London, 10 minutes from Oxford Street and next to the iconic BT Tower.
The school and campus have benefited from a major programme of refurbishment. More than £30 million was spent and, as a result, the School of Life Sciences now boasts state of the art facilities.
More than 100 academic staff teach 20 undergraduate and 22 postgraduate courses to over 2,000 students. We’ve a thriving research culture, with more than 30 students registered for PhDs. Our active research and postgraduate programmes also ensure that undergraduate students are in close contact with cutting edge applied scientific knowledge.
To support our students at the start of their academic life we have developed the Academic Tutoring Scheme (ATS). The programme of group tutorial activities is designed to help you develop key skills, transition easily into higher education and achieve your full potential in the sciences.
All students in the School of Life Sciences can contact their personal tutor with any questions or concerns, and this tutoring support lasts for the entire duration of your degree. Students receive full details of the scheme during orientation week.
This is in addition to the full range of support services provided by the University of Westminster; for more information see the prospective student webpages.
