Some 65% of the School's graduates go directly into employment in arts or media-related jobs with organisations as diverse as Sony UK, the BBC, Sky, independent production companies and a range of magazines, newspapers and websites. Our most recent graduate, Alexander Shuckburgh, also known as Shux, picked up a 2011 Grammy music award in Los Angeles for co-writing and producing the Jay-Z, Alicia Keys classic ‘Empire State of Mind’. Others graduate are working freelance or on short-term contracts in the worlds of film, photography, fashion, multimedia, graphic design, journalism, broadcasting, fine art and animation.

A significant number of graduates continue to study further at Masters or PhD levels. The School has a highly rated research programme in both Media Communication and Art and Design, where it has pioneered a programme of practice-based PhDs. Some of our most successful graduates return to us as guest lecturers, while several of our research students have gone on to become lecturers and researchers within the School.
