As a department we make the most of our central London location, organising regular public events with institutions such as Tate Britain and the National Portrait Gallery. English, Linguistics and Cultural Studies also makes a major contribution to the University's Study Abroad and European Exchange programmes, with more than 200 international students attending its classes each year.
The department is additionally responsible for the Westminster/Smithsonian Colloquium, a collaboration of lectures, workshops and seminars between the University and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC, the world's largest museum complex.
