Foundation courses

Foundation courses offer students who are unable to apply directly to a degree programme the opportunity to study the subject of their choice and progress to a level where they can enter an undergraduate course – upon successful completion.

These courses are suitable for both mature students who may not have formal qualifications, and students of any age without the entry qualifications for our named degree programmes.

The School of Electronics and Computer Science’s foundation year will provide you with an introduction to all major areas of computing, together with the necessary mathematical background.

Foundation courses are available for the majority of our degree courses.
