Departments
The University of Westminster's corporate services bring together a diverse range of staff. Together they contribute to the mission of the University by providing effective and professional delivery of services in support of teaching, research, and knowledge transfer.
Academic Services
Provides services for both students and staff. Students can expect a central resource for online information where they will find information and resources on a range of topics, including School Registry Offices, student services and support, and forms, procedures and regulations.
Staff can access information regarding annual monitoring arrangements, academic council, committees, groups and academic infrastructure.
Career Development Centre
Provides wide-ranging careers information and advice for Westminster students and graduates. Has information for staff relating to subjects including the University's employability strategy, linking students to employers and aiding staff in supporting students.Counselling Service and Student Advice
The Counselling Service and Student Advice are made up of three areas:- A student advice service, based at 101 New Cavendish Street and the Harrow Campus, which provides advice for students on practical, financial and general welfare matters. These include student funding, visa extensions and immigration issues, fee status entitlements, debt and money management, social security benefits, tax and National Insurance.
- An international student advice service, also based at 101 New Cavendish Street and the Harrow Campus, offering support with the challenges of adapting to living and studying in a new environment. It also organises special activities and events for international students.
- A confidential counselling and support service, located at the Marylebone and Harrow Campuses, which is available to all students and staff. The team consists of trained and widely experienced counsellors who are used to working with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
Disability Learning Support
Provides support for those with disabilities and those who work with disabled students. From arranging dyslexia screening appointments to explaining different types of disability, the service gives as much information as possible to ensure students and staff are not held back by disabilities.Estates and Facilities (E&F)
Divided into three areas: infrastructure, business services, and strategy and performance. The department is responsible for aspects of the University which include building maintenance projects, residential services, conferencing, venues and space planning.Finance
The Finance Department is responsible for the financial management and financial services of the University. Services provided include payroll administration, financial reporting and the provision of financial information, payments processing, support for financial systems and the collection of revenues. The three school-based offices are responsible for delivering services at school level.
Human Resources (HR)
Custodians of the policies that provide the foundations of the working environment for the University's staff.
Work impacts on our students, through its staff. HR policies are designed to promote equality, diversity and good employment practice. Work in partnership with managers, staff and unions to ensure policies are consistently implemented across the University and regularly reviewed and revised against changing requirements, both internal and external.
Information Systems and Library Services (ISLS)
Supports the University's information needs through its centralised library, archive and computing provision.
Its department is committed to a user-centred, high quality service for everyone involved in learning, teaching, research and administration at the University. It is focused on continued development and improvement of its services.
International Office
Devoted to recruiting, welcoming and advising students from all over the world wishing to study at the University of Westminster for anything from full degrees to Study Abroad, student exchanges and English language courses. The International Office offers advice on a range of topics including course selection, visas, pre-arrival information, accommodation, career advice and international partnerships.
Marketing, Communications and Development (MCD)
Offers services to help you communicate effectively with the University's internal and external stakeholders.
Its services will help you promote yourself to potential customers and work closer with schools and colleges. It can also aid you in communicating your successes and triumphs, keep in touch with alumni and raise funds to support future activities.
