Biography
Professor Robert Abbey, is a Senior Academic at the University of Westminster, The Department of Applied Legal Studies.
He joined the school in 1992 and is now the Law School Teaching and Learning Coordinator with teaching responsibilities on both the Legal Practice Course and the Graduate Diploma in Law.
In addition to his teaching commitments, his professional experience includes being consultant solicitor with Russell Jones & Walker Solicitors in commercial and residential conveyancing, wills trusts and probate. Until 1992, he was previously and Equity partner with Russell Jones & Walker Solicitors and, until 1984, a Conveyancing and Probate equity partner with Cecil Altman & Co. Solicitors.
Robert is presently a Deputy Adjudicator to HM Land Registry and an Appointed Legal Practice Course assessor for the Law Society having been involved in over 30 assessment visits to LPC providers since 1992. He was until recently a Chief External Examiner for Property Law and Practice for the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
